Meet Richard!
Richard is a fully qualified chartered Building Surveyor who is passionate about buildings! With decades of experience in the property field, he got his first-class honours degree in Building Surveying and the Environment at Plymouth University and has worked with both commercial and residential clients ever since.
Over the years, Richard has built solid professional relationships and has the ability to forge strong bonds, recognising that clients are as individual as the buildings he surveys. He has experience working with national companies, local and health authorities, and helping out Sheila down the road. He has built a strong understanding of building structures, and his varied work has included project coordination and surveying of properties – structural surveys, dilapidation reports, residential surveys, and so much more!
Because his skills and experience are so varied, he is able to offer a tailored, bespoke service to his clients. He’s known for thinking outside the box and finding solutions to problems big and small. He would describe himself as a bit of a building nerd and loves nothing more than getting his teeth into challenging work that requires investigation and research. Fully committed to the Continued Professional Development he must undertake as a charter member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), he enjoys staying up to date with the ever-changing landscape of buildings.
Richard has worked and lived in the Southwest for many years, and as a keen sailor, he loves nothing more than blowing the cobwebs away on board Valentine Too, a sailing boat he has proudly sailed since his teenage years. He also enjoys catching local lobsters to throw on the barbeque and dog walks along the coast and on the moors!
Oh, and in and amongst all this, he is a family man, providing his children with a great example of work ethic but also one who could try harder on the work-life balance (their words!)
